MUSSI AND PEREYRA NOT KNOW WHERE TO PUT THE GARBAGE
A year ago, Varela's neighbors come calling, with just the right that gives us the defense of our health and the environment, which terminated in the project known Regional Environmental Park for the treatment of domestic and industrial waste, which is being promoted with the Municipality of Berazategui.
Throughout this time we have shown that the project had no solid foundation, it was an improvisation and left open a host of highly hazardous alternatives. Gradually giving us life was right. Adjustments were first made in December and after the annulment of the ordinance which empowered the projects.
This measure would have to have been a good news, but did not render meaningless the discussion, compound the picture and show, and without any doubt, that the whole project was an improvisation.
Today we face the decision to convene a public hearing is not binding, with the same proposal but with more rejection neighborhood. Joined in recent days the commentary, as a bargaining chip to demobilize, a possible change of location the plant. This is also in the same context of uncertainties to which we are accustomed. We have participated
at public meetings convened by the municipality, very few indeed, to talk about it, made before or after the repeal of the ordinances. As neighbors, we organized meetings with Mr. Mayor, Julio Pereyra, and Secretary of Environment and Sustainable Development, Dr. Beatriz Domingorena, in which we could not move because of the stubbornness official.
Ultimately we are today almost the same as at first. They have not listened to the neighbors and City government insists on the same project in partnership with Berazategui.
We have accumulated knowledge about the issue of garbage as a result of dozens of meetings in neighborhoods, schools, churches etc.. We've been chatting with hundreds of our neighbors in the streets of the District. We talked with specialists in this subject. As a result of all this, grew our decision to fight to achieve a just response to the global problem of waste.
Today, Tuesday August 24, 2010, we mobilized to berate the municipal authorities. We do it because we are the first to demand a comprehensive solution to the issue of urban waste, both household and industrial. Therefore
:
"We reject the ideas so far presented by the Municipal government.
" We demand not to waste more time and begin to discuss a serious project, modern and appealing to the basic treatment the waste.
"Because we are directly affected, we insist that any project must involve local and natural organizations.
" We require each municipality to take care of your trash.
"We demand the integrated waste treatment, applying the basic system of household separation and separate collection.
" Repeal of the Act CEAMSE.
"promote the creation of a law of packaging.
" That the comprehensive treatment plan, not separate as planned, will be out of any productive or populated area.
"A clear system of citizen oversight of construction and waste treatment.
It's time to play no more with the health of the inhabitants of Varela!
